“We live in a magical place, come and ride the magic carpet with us.”
Niseko Photography is a visual media company employing a creative collective of energetic and enthusiastic photographers and visual artists. The team is headed by Aaron Jamieson (owner) and Yasuyuki Shimanuki, together they produce quality photography and visual media of Hokkaido from their base in Niseko.
Founded in 2006 Niseko Photography grew from a dream of lifestyle and photography to a busy media hub employing many seasonal staff all of whom have contributed huge amounts of effort, ideas and inspiration in turning a dream into reality.
Aaron (or Az) has lived in Niseko for 6 years. He is a professional photographer based in Hirafu Village and was drawn here through a love of snow and the outdoors. Aaron is the founder and owner of Niseko Photography.
Aaron is Australian whose fascination in photography and design began whilst studying Visual Media in Sweden. Since then, he has spent much of his time traveling and working across the globe. Aaron has a degree in Business Communication where he specialised in Advertising and Creative Visual Media.
Aaron lets his work and passions carry him around Hokkaido and Japan and also travels widely in Asia pursuing new faces and places to photograph.
Aaron specialises in Architectual photography and has been widely published both as a ski/snowboard photographer as well as some of the worlds largest Architectural magazines. His passion for photography is second only to his desire to discover new places and ski perfect untracked powder in the backcountry.
Yas was born in Wakkanai on Hokkaido's most northern tip and is a true Hokkaido local. There is no doubt that the beauty of Niseko holds Yas here but he's happiest when on a set of (wide, powder-specific) ski's with a camera in his hand.
Yas is a qualified architectural GC artist and takes a trained eye to the camera to produce stunning images of Niseko's four seasons. Moving to Niseko 7 years ago Yas hasn't stopped smiling since! Having lived in New Zealand and the U.K. Yas returned to Japan with the dream of being able to work and continue his travels around the world. Having Niseko to call home is a blessing he relishes on a daily basis.
Yas draws his creativity from a family of musicians and artists and applies his passion to food and nature photography with stunning results.
Yas always has a camera in his hand and is always smiling.
