There are some amazing resorts in the Niseko area, each with their own unique qualities, but they all share one thing – powder snow! We will take you from sea and summit to wherever is best on the day based on snowfall and weather conditions, or you can choose an area the area you would like to discover.
Our experienced guides will show you the best of Niseko’s backcountry terrain. We assess the weather and snow conditions repeatedly throughout the day to determine where the best and safest snow will be. More importantly, a hiking access tour will allow you to take in the beauty of the area and safely reach some seriously special zones.

We have been offering Cat Skiing Services in Niseko for over 12 years now and this makes us one of the most experienced companies when it comes to mechanised touring. Cat skiing is a unique and energy-saving way to ski and snowboard the world-famous Japanese powder in all its untracked glory.
At Niseko Photography & Guiding we offer bespoke, fully customisable tours in the Niseko region. Choose from the resorts and backcountry areas outlined above, or join us for a tour to the stunning mountains of Central Hokkaido, the home of the tallest peak on the North Island, Mt. Asahidake. Our guides know all the secret powder zones and will take you wherever the snow is best each day.

Want to increase your knowledge of avalanche safety and be more prepared when heading into the backcountry? Niseko Photography & Guiding put safety at the forefront of everything we do and now offer avalanche courses specifically structured around the Hokkaido terrain, weather and snow patterns.

This 4-day advanced avalanche course focuses on weather and snowpack evaluation, slope assessment and basic avalanche forecasting. It builds on the knowledge gained from Hokkaido Avalanche Training 1 course or other AST 1 courses and is tailored to the Japanese terrain and weather conditions.
