First snowfall of the 2018/19 season – getting excited for a lot of powder

Frothy flakes are falling towards the green slopes of the Niseko United resort again. Finally.

Reminiscing about those unforgettable powder days, we were sitting here. Ready for the new season to kick off. Keeping ourselves busy preparing for the snow to arrive. Organizing our gear, strolling through an empty village and catching up with the friends that stayed here full time or came back early. It was a really exciting time, seeing more and more seasonnaires flocking into town by the day. It’s an awesome feeling because it means one thing especially – that we were getting close. One could literally feel the excitement that accompanied every single person.

I remember, it was not too long ago, when our morning ritual consisted of jumping out of bed in hope of seeing a white surprise. And then, one morning, it was there. The white fluff, the stuff that dreams are made off was back. The snow has arrived. Welcome winter 2018/2019!

Stores start to open their doors, the lifts start spinning, no matter where you look you see happy faces. People (mostly still ‘temporary locals’) walking around the village in groups, jumping from one season-start sale to the next. Hirafu is now officially back from its ‘summer hibernation’.

But, most importantly, Niseko Photography & Guiding and The Brick Bar is back! The day that we were all waiting for. Niseko’s Best New Venue 17/18 opens its doors for its second season and it is going to be even more epic than the last one!

We just had our kick-off party this weekend and celebrated the winter gods’ arrival in beautiful Hokkaido. Thank you to everybody who attended and made it a night to remember! And to everybody who missed out – well that’s your fault 😉 But the good news for you is: The Brick’s doors will be open from now on every single day of the season from 4pm and until the last man or woman standing. We also have our happy hour from 4pm to 6pm daily so it really is a no-brainer for you and your mates after a long day on the slopes: 170-273 Yamada. (That’s The Brick – for all of you who are still a little hungover from the opening, we gotcha 😉

At least as exciting as the Brick’s return is the opening of Niseko Photography & Guiding (NPG). We are back and more stoked than ever. Our whole team is ready to keep creating those unforgettable memories for you.
